Most stoners have heard about the Volcano. It is known by many stoners as the mother of all desktop vaporizers.
It definitely isn't cheap and is one of the most expensive desktops on the market.
In this review we answer the question of whether this vaporizer is worth it’s expensive price tag.
The Volcano vaporizer has been around as long as I can remember, and I’ve owned mine for several years at this point.
As a stoner, I consider the Volcano to be one of the best purchases I've ever made.
In this article, I'll get into why I feel this way.
This vaporizer is made by a company called Storz & Bickel. They’re known for making amazing vaporizers such as the Crafty and the Mighty.
This company has built a reputation over the years for making some of the highest quality vaporizers in the world. They made their name for themselves originally with the Volcano.
The Volcano is no different from any of their newer vaporizers in the quality of it's design. Mine still works as good as it did when I bought it years ago.

The Volcano might be not be affordable to most people but I can assure you it’s worth every penny and should be considered an investment. I’ve had my Volcano for over 3 years and it works just like the day I bought it.

Everything You Need To Know About It
The Volcano has a classic look, and anybody who’s been a stoner for more than a few years can likely identify one.
It looks just as it’s name suggests, like a silver Volcano.
The design of this vaporizer allows for it to be one of the most functional and shareable vaporizers on the market.
The Volcano has a fan system that fills a large bag with vapor, that make it perfect for sharing with other people.
It's Simple To Use
The Volcano is very simple to use and only takes a little bit of common sense to figure out! Once you have the vaporizer set up, you just pack the herb chamber, set the vaporizer to your desired temperature, and press the green button! The vaporizer fan will fill the balloon bags with vapor and in under 30 seconds you bag will be full of tasty vapor!
This vaporizer is great for using with friends as the bags are great for passing around! You can also buy extended bags that are even bigger that work great when your vaporizing with large groups of people!
Build Quality
You can tell that the Volcano vaporizer is made out of quality materials simply by looking at it, or by feeling it with your hands. It is a decently heavy vaporizer, and has a very solid feel to it.
As I've already said, I've owned my Volcano for over 3 years., and it works just as good as the day I bought it (however I do take good care of it).
The Volcano Classic vs Digital
The Volcano comes in two different styles; Classic or Digital.
I myself own The Digital model, though I have tried the Classic on several occasions as one of my close friends owns one. If you're on a budget, I personally don’t find the digital version to be necessary and I think most would be fine saving the extra money and going with The Classic.
However, there are some clear benefits with the Digital, which I'll get into.

When I was initially doing research into which model I was going to buy, I did quite a bit of research comparing the two. They are both very similar, although there are a few slight differences that I'll go over.
The Volcano Classic
The Classic model of the Volcano features a rotary dial on the front of the device that is used to control and adjust the temperature.
There is no automatic shut-off on the Classic model, which many people will see as a pro, while others might see this as a con.
At the end of every session, you need to manually turn off the vaporizer.
The minimum temperature setting is 266°F and the max setting is just under 450°F.
The Volcano Digital
The Digital has some noticeable improvements over the Classic. For starters, it features an LED screen which will display both the set temperature, as well as the exact temperature of the heating chamber.
You're able to precisely adjust the temperature using both the (-) and (+) buttons on the front of the device.
Overall the Digital will allow you to accurately set your temperature to the exact degree. Not only that, but the temperature spectrum is also much bigger. The maximum temperature setting is the same as the Classic at just under 450°F, however you're able to set it as low as 105°F! (In all honesty, I've never used it below 300°F)
Also, unlike the Classic, the Digital features an auto shut-off feature which will automatically turn off the vaporizer if it's been on for 30 minutes and hasn't been used in that time.
My Favorite Thing About It
This vaporizer delivers some very impressive hits of vapor. The vapor production of the Volcano is unlike any other bag style vaporizer I’ve ever used. It creates thick, and tasty vapor that everyone can enjoy.
I’d say it has the best vapor production of any other vaporizer I own.
The user interface allows you to have full control over the temperature so selecting the ideal temperature that works for you is very easy! My favorite temperature to use the Volcano is 380°F. At this temperature I feel you get a solid mix of tasty vapor and you also get big clouds of vapor as well!
The vapor that the Volcano delivers is so smooth and will have anybody falling in love with this unit.

Do I Recommend The Volcano?
I bought this vaporizer at the very end of 2011, and believe it or not my Volcano unit still performs as good as it did the day I brought it home. The vapor quality is still well above any of the other vaporizers I currently own, and I’ve yet to find a vaporizer that even comes close in terms of build and vapor quality.
Most people freak out when they see the price tag on the Volcano, as did I when I first bought mine. But when you think about it, for a vaporizer that will last you for many many years, it’s completely worth the investment. I can’t tell you how many vaporizers I’ve had stop working on me over the years after using them for only a year or two. Cheap priced usually means made of low quality materials from my experience, and when you invest in a Volcano you can be certain your investing in quality materials.
More than anything, purchasing the Volcano should be looked at as an investment.
It should be the only vaporizer you will have to buy for many years to come, and it is by far the best vaporizer on the market to this day. You will not find a vaporizer that outperforms the Volcano vaporizer in vapor quality and overall you won’t find a better unit for sharing.
The Volcano the first vaporizer I reach for whenever my stoner buddies come over for a smoke session, and I always get great feedback on it from others. The balloon bags are great for sharing as they can easily be filled up and passed around a circle more than a few times! Since you can get anywhere from 6-10 hits per bag, they are perfect for sharing with friends!
I most definitely recommend this product to all stoners, for both novice and advanced vaporizers the Volcano will make a solid addition to your arsenal of tools to get you baked!
