The G Pen Essential Oil is one of the better oil vaporizer pens I have used and it is one of the top pen vaporizers for oil on the market today.

I bought the G Pen Essential Oil at my local head-shop for 90 bucks (nowadays you can pick one up for around 40$, using this link).

This vape pen has been around for many years, and Grenco has continued to update the design to compete with other top models. 

Its designed for concentrates only, not herbs. There are 3 main parts, the mouthpiece, the coil, and the battery.

Lets get into the review.

Design

The G Pen has a pretty simple, yet very practical design.

It's essentially made up of three different parts that attach to one another.

The G-coil, the mouthpiece, and the battery.

​The G Coil

​The G Coil is a unique style of heating chamber that allows for some impressive vapor production, especially for a pen vaporizer. Packing it works very simply, first you unscrew the top, and then you take the provided packing tool (the metal stick reminiscent of that thing the dentist uses to scrape your teeth) and put some wax on it. You then place the wax on the element and re-screw the top. I have to say I absolutely love this heating chamber design. The G-Coil chamber allows you to pack good size dabs but you can also make a little go a long way with this thing. There is a flat element at the bottom of the vaporizer, it isn’t like other models where you need to precariously place your wax on a coil suspended in the air.

The Mouthpiece

​The mouthpiece is one of the better designed mouth pieces I’ve seen on a pen vape. The only downside is that it gets clogged after prolonged use. It is however very easy to clean, a quick soak in isopropyl alcohol is all you need to wash away many sessions worth of built-up gunk. Remember to clean all the isopropyl alcohol off once you’re done though!

The Battery

The battery is designed so that you can’t accidentally turn it on, turning it on involves hitting the power button 5 times, this is a pretty standard feature of these kinds of vape pens, I’m unsure if Grenco themselves pioneered the idea and turned it into an industry standard. This means you will never accidentally turn it on in your pocket.

Battery Life

The battery life is pretty good, it lasts me the whole day if I use it infrequently, it rarely ever dies but if it does it’s normally during my night time session. It is much better suited to take a hit or two from as needed, it is not made for consistent non-stop vaping. To this effect, it really shines as either a back-up piece or something to help you dose here and there as you go about your day.

Vapor Quality

The quality of the vapor is pretty surprising for a pen vaporizer and I would say it hits me harder than any other way of consuming concentrates that I’ve tried (including dabs, hot knives, etc). While it isn’t a huge cloud chucker, you can easily feel yourself getting more and more stoned with each hit. It delivers a very smooth vaping experience

Do I Recommend the G-Pen?

Absolutely!

This pen vaporizer was exactly what I was looking for. I needed something straightforward that I could bring with me to work and around the house. I love dabbing and the experience provided by concentrates, so being able to bring that with me anywhere I wanted was perfect. I won’t lie, sometimes I haven’t been the most well behaved individual and you’ll find me using this in the bathroom stall whenever I can steal a quick moment to myself.

​Grenco is one of the more well known vape brands on the market today. Part of this notoriety is their partnership with Snoop Dogg for the double G series of vape pens. They are known for the G-Pen, G-Pro and many others. Something worth nothing about the G-Pen is that they constantly update the model based on customer feedback, so there is some variation between models of G-Pen based on when they were released.

They are a reliable company committed to their customer base, and have an excellent customer support team. I’ve personally dealt with the support team and they are always looking to keep everybody happy.

Conclusion

Overall, the G-Pen Essential Oil is a great vaporizer pen. It is no doubt the best value for your money when it comes to concentrate pens. Simple, elegant, it is a great base model device.
