What's the next best thing to a diamond?
A RUBI.
The Kandypens Rubi vaporizer is sleek, slim, smart, and sexy. Aesthetically, I would say that the vaporizer is trying to make the cannabis version of the Pax JUUL, one of the most popular new nicotine vapes. Just for cannabis oil as opposed to nicotine juice.
This device offers pod-based fun as opposed to packing a chamber.
Let's get into my full review!
When I first bought it, the Kandypens Rubi looked like an extraterrestrial super device.
I am very impressed with the pod based design as it allows for quite a bit of oil to be held inside, I tend to bring this one around when I know I have a lot of non-shatter smoking friends coming over that think they can underestimate shatter and get away with it.
In terms of portability and usability, the Kandypens Vaporizer is my best friend. I literally take this little guy with me everywhere I go.
As if discreetness, mobility, and appearance were not enough, this device is also gets me blazed like a California forest fire. It is compatible with wax e-juice as well as oil, making it a top contender in my shelf since I don't need to stop and remember if my device is compatible with my concentrate of choice.
The Kandypens Rubi uses ceramic coil technology to achieve vaporization.
The use of ceramic in any vaporizing device gives it many advantages. This is a point I always try to make.
An increasing number of companies have started innovating and exploring with ceramic chambers and ceramic coils. Ceramic is very useful because it is both heat tolerant, and abrasion resistant. Basically they use this material for dental prosthesis, and kitchen knives. It affects the flavor as well as the air draw. My ceramic coils are easy to maintain, to boot.
If it looks familiar, that's probably because it looks almost identical to the JUUL.
The design is definitely one of the most discreet of all wax vaporizers, the Rubi reigns over all.
At only four inches high, it's actually extremely difficult to get someone to think you're getting stoned and not waving a really weird kazoo or voice recorder in their face. I've used the vaporizer in enclosed spaces before without anyone noticing.
The scent does depend on the type of e-liquid you are smoking, however if you add a little bit of wax in there you are good to go. The smell could be barely distinguishable depending on the situation. The device is very easy to stealth vape, or vape without producing any smoke. Even if someone did smell it, you just looked like someone deep in thought if you grasp it tightly in your palm. The added carb can help for more controlled, stealthy draws. Yeah, this thing has variable air flow.
Pod based smoking is a new concept for wax vaporizers, typically pod based vapes were only suitable for nicotine e-juice as the voltages offered were not suitable for wax and the consistency of concentrates typically being too thick to work properly. Kandypens redesigned the pod to fit perfectly with concentrates and it is refillable to boot, meaning there's no need to chuck out your pod after a single use. It's probably a prudent step to buy a few once you've figured out you like the vape, though. They are refillable but definitely not unlimited in their use.
With a 2800 mAh battery that has output that is just over 8W, the battery truly astonished me. For a device this size it's very rare to have batteries that go over 1500 mAh. With the USB cable you can charge the device quickly and without worry. The Kandypens Rubi’s battery comes with a life-time warranty, in case anything goes wrong, you only need to pay to get your old battery shipped back and you'll get yourself a brand new one.
Honestly, the deal was sealed for me there, because I was skeptical the 28000 mAh battery would just conk out after a month or so. Companies seldom offer lifetime warranties on items that break frequently, it would bankrupt them.
The battery takes from around 30 to 50 draws per charge. The duration of a full charge is usually 1 to 2 hours depending on the frequency of the draws. It only takes about 80 minutes to charge, so there isn't much of a waiting game here. If your tolerance is so high a huge shatter hit can't last you 80 minutes, maybe vape pens aren't really for you. With my usage I cannot keep the device with me everywhere without having the USB cable with me and an external battery. The universal USB cable can be used anywhere, and it offers flexibility to its users. Overall, for its size, the nature of it's battery life is understandable.
If you have a long day ahead of you just make sure you keep the USB charger on hand. Also watch for the LED light, if it turns red you need to charge the device as soon as you can.
Tip: If you are a heavy smoker take advantage of the increased availability of mobile power banks. If you have one you'll be able to charge on the go and not be confined to electrical outlets. Some even come in a 24 case of beer, they are everywhere these days and have gotten pretty affordable.
Some devices require a very, very specfic technique to draw the most possible vapor from them. The RUBI doesn't have this issue, you'll find yourself drawing a lot of clouds with minimal effort. You can produce a downright surreal amount of vapor from a small puff. Kandypen’s JUUL is known for being the device that more resembles a cigarette in terms of draw and flow, and the RUBI is kind of the joint equivalent. The ceramic coil is definitely doing it's duty when it comes to the volume of vapor produced from a single draw.
I can see cigarette smokers enjoying the experience offered by the RUBI, but it should be considered that the loose vapor might seem like a sudden shift for smokers. But really, we're not here for whether or not smokers like it, we're here to get absolutely zonked. The fact that it's a great device to puff on and contemplate life is just an added bonus.
For us shatter groupies, this device can do wonders if you combine oil or wax with any e-liquid. The RUBI pod gives you the flexibility to experiment and have a finely tuned wax and e liquid melange should you choose to..
Tip: For people who wish to quit smoking, this device can do wonders. Nicotine e-juice can be added in conjunction to the wax which eliminated my number one problem with nic vapes when I used one: there's just no definite "end" like there is with a cigarette. By adding a bit of concentrates to the e-juice, you can stop once you are satisfied with how high you are and keep your focus off of the nicotine. It might take some fine-tuning, but the option is there.I bought my JUUL from Vapornation, since they offered the lowest price I could find, plus I get an extra 10% off with the coupon code "IMARIJUANIT".
Did I mention it came with free shipping?
I personally really enjoyed my time with the Kandypens RUBI. When I noticed it was pod based, I was skeptical as I always wondered how the JUUL would fare with concentrates, but after using it I found to be very effective. Obviously some changes had to be made to the pod so that oil can come in contact with the coil more easily, that is why it actually works instead of JUUL pods, which will NOT be of any use with cannabis products.
It is equipped with everything that a piece like this needs. It is extremely affordable, effective, and pretty hard to break. What's not to love about that? The Kandypens RUBI has paved the way for more manufacturers to try out pod based delivery systems for concentrates and I'm interested in seeing if anyone can do better.
You can take this thing with you anywhere, it's more or less just a double-long USB stick. If you’re in the need of a quick hit and go, that's perfect. Some of my friends love experimenting with different flavor e-liquids and types of wax to make insanely customized personal blends. Overall, I see this vaporizer making waves for years to come. From the niche of creative consumers who buy it to experiment with e-liquid to consumers who were just drawn to the size & functionality I sincerely doubt many of them will be disappointed. I sure as hell wasn't.

Vaporizing is without a doubt one of the best ways to consume marijuana, or any other "dry herbs" for that matter. An issues many consumers face is choosing the right vaporizer, from the hundreds of models available on the market.
This is where I come in.
I've been vaping marijuana for almost a decade and have went through countless different models over the years.
As you can maybe tell from the library of vaporizer reviews scattered among this website.
Below I've created a list of my favorite dry herb vaporizers both portable and desktops.
In this article, I've done my best to include a plethora of my favorite marijuana vaporizers to suit the needs of each and every one of you.
Whether you're looking for something that won't break the bank, or you want the best weed vaporizer that money can buy, I've included a bunch of vaporizers to suit all different needs.
No matter what your budget is, or whether you're looking for a desktop vaporizer or a portable, I've got you covered.
Unlike virtually all other top 10 vaporizer lists you'll find, each of the vaporizers listed below is a product that I have actually tested myself.
They are all products that I can stand behind with confidence.
Without wasting anymore of your time, lets get into my favorite vaporizers for weed.
The Atmos Vicod 5G is the ideal dry herb vaporizer for those who want a no nonsense dry herb vaporizer. The Vicod 5G is a simple, easy to use vaporizer that can be turned on and used very quickly. The device has no customization or mobile app connectivity settings, and although that might come as a turnoff for some, it makes using the device very simple and effortless, you buy a vaporizer, you get a vaporizer. It tries to hit all of the bases without going unnecessarily in depth.
The 5G has an average-sized ceramic oven that can be used solo or shared with about three people comfortably, along with great tasting, quality vapor that can usually be found in high-end vaporizers. You're paying for the extra features in those though, not added quality, Vicod does great. The Atmos Vicod 5G is a very simple but effective device that produces a high quantity of vapor for half the price of most vaporizers that can chuck clouds as well.

DaVinci's creations tend to top the charts each year they are released. The IQ is no different. On the outside, the DaVinci IQ looks and feels amazing, each iteration becomes more futuristic than the last. Additionally, the vaporizer’s performance is excellent. The DaVinci is simple enough to use for those who have little experience with vaporizers, but is still powerful enough for use by experienced users. The Zirconia air path found within the vaporizer is built to help keep the vapor cool as it comes out of the vaporizer as this device has a relatively short vapor path. While it definitely does help in that regard and eliminates the need for a drawing tube, it aids in the production of thick, rich vapor as well.
The DaVinci IQ allows you to customize its temperature settings according to your preferences. With its patented Smart Path Technology, you can make sure to get optimal sessions from your device. DaVinci is one of the few manufacturers I've bought from who actually introduce something innovative when they tack on "Technology" to what seems like simple concepts. The DaVinci IQ also has Bluetooth and a smartphone app, so you can control everything by simply accessing the app from your phone. If you’re a tech buff and enjoy new gadgets, the DaVinci IQ is the vaporizer for you. Can you imagine telling Cheech & Chong in the '70s that people would use miniature computers to customize their marijuana experience?

The producer of the G Pen Elite, Grenco Science, is one of the most well known vaporizer companies out there, thanks to all of the press associated with hooking up with Snoop Dogg. It helps that the G-Pen was one of the first pen style vaporizers that was worth the money. Times have changed and so has the G Pen, now calling itself the G Pen Elite. I've eagerly awaited modernization of the G Pen and the Elite came pretty far.
Now that the Elite is on the market, it’s evident that it was worth the wait. The G Pen Elite comes with an array of advanced functions that make the device simple to use while still allowing for more advanced functionality. Its ergonomic design allows it to naturally complement the human had, giving it a great feel that isn't awkward. The G Pen Elite is coupled with an LED display that displays all the information you may need, like heat setting and remaining battery life. The vaporizer offers a temperature range of 200 to 428 degrees Fahrenheit. You can change the temperature according to your personal preferences and needs.
Additionally, the device heats up quite fast; it can reach up to 350 degrees Fahrenheit in just thirty seconds. Internally, the G Pen Elite contains a large 0.75-gram ceramic chamber. Another great feature of the G Pen Elite is that it includes a thin grinder that can really come in handy at times when you need to prepare your loose leaf, as finely ground cannabis suits the G Pen Elite the best. To sum up, the G Pen Elite is a fantastic portable vaporizer that is well-priced and is great for those who want wonderful performance paired with and ease of use.

Desktop vaporizers offer a lot of advantages compared to handhelds, most of which is that nearly all of the energy can be poured into making sure high amounts of the best possible vapor can be produced. Portable vaporizers are limited by their power sources that need to be a balance of powerful and high capacity, and because of their small size usually have a limited herb chamber.
The DaVinci IQ took the idea to heart. The same people who've made some of the best portable vaporizers also have a great line of desktop vapes that I use to this day. The IQ seeks to deliver a top of the line experience that is still affordable to the average user. It's around a third of the price of a Volcano vaporizer and offers about 80% of what the Volcano can offer as far as raw industrial grade vapor production.
Entire bags of vapor can be filled and passed around between a full room of friends or you can suck on the whip attachment to feel like you're in the womb of a ganja goddess getting your fix right from the source. It's easy to use as it has an LCD screen and four buttons that control all of the other relevant features. If I was the type of person to have a study somewhere in my house, this thing would be where ever intellectuals would normally put a globe.
Pros
Cons
Up next on the list is the Firefly 2. This vaporizer is absolutely stellar for vaporizing dry herb, but it will work perfectly with thick oil concentrate as well as waxes as well. The Firefly 2 has a fire button, which is the only way you can start the vaporizing process. The advantage of this feature is that it causes less odor to be emitted from the device, since heating only occurs on command. The feature also significantly extends battery life. For this reason, I pick my Firefly 2 when I need to squeeze every second of usable battery life into my day or weekend.
The Firefly 2 is a bit of a workhorse as far as vaporizers or, it's almost in a class of it's own as an e-pipe or something like that In other words, the device is the 4-wheel drive, heavy duty pick-up truck of portable vaporizers. Although the Firefly’s weight might be considered a setback by some, its bulkiness feels good in the hand, like a durable and quality piece of tech. In terms of its vapor, you can rest assured that the Firefly’s vapor is perfectly clean and full of flavor due to the borosilicate glass vapor pathway. Glass pathway vapes deliver little to no added flavor, so you know precisely what your herb tastes like.
I consider the Firefly 2 a vaporizer pipe because it heats up almost instantly while providing up to ten fully packed, fully cooked bowls of flavorful, clean vapor. It’s also quite easy to refill and is uncomplicated to clean and maintain. Although the Firefly’s price might be a little high, you can be certain that it’s worth the price you’ll pay due to its durability, ease of use, and high quality.

Pax Labs, the creator of the Pax 3 is a technology company based in Silicon Valley, so these guys probably worked a good few tech start-ups before they decided to put their eggs into the vaporizing basket. Thanks to it's ingenious design, the Pax 3 comes packed with technological advances more typical of consumer appliances than drug paraphernalia. For instance, when not in use, the Pax 3 will automatically shut down and restart again when you pick it up to use it. It's great for dry herb but the option for concentrates is there with the Pax 3.
The Pax 3 also offers other high-tech features such as Bluetooth, haptic feedback, and a smartphone app that can be used to control its settings in an extremely precise manner. The Pax 3’s lip-sensing technology increases the devices efficiency by activating the heat when the device is brought near the lips and deactivating it when the device is removed, thankfully they made sure this feature is actually good at what it does before shipping it. This allows the device to save up battery life. Not only is the Pax 3 remarkably easy to use, it's gone the way of sleek Apple-esque products as many other vaporizers have.
What's going on underneath the hood? Well, the Pax 3 has a 3500mAH battery and heat-up time of only fifteen seconds! The Pax 3 has been called the “iPhone of Vaporizers” for its marvelous design, ease of use, functionality, and great aesthetic. For those of you who want a small, sleek portable vaporizer, then the Pax 3 is the device for you.
Pros

Surprising since it's been around probably for something a decade, no other desktop vape has came close to actually dethroning the Volcano as the best desktop vaporizer of all time.
It's closer to a commercial piece of equipment than it is a personal vaporizer. By that I mean someone could easily run a stand where they sell bags of awesome vapor produced by a Volcano in the back of a converted ice cream van. Man, now that'd be a good day at the beach.
The only prohibitive thing about the Volcano is that it is one of the most expensive vaporizers, but that's the price you pay for the cream of the crop. At least it's extremely durable and well made, I'd hate it if this thing ever broke due to mine or my friend's clumsiness or misuse, it's very forgiving. This isn't something you buy and think "Eh, big whoop," because it whoops you in the ass more than much else. It's reputation should speak for itself, but I will be one of the thousands of stoners out there who will agree that the Volcano is the best desktop vaporizer of all time.
Pros
Cons
Another great desktop vaporizer is none other than the Vapir Rise 2.0. It is compatible with both bags and whip attachments and is one of the more affordable desktop vaporizers that aims to provide as close to the Volcano experience as it can without draining your wallet.
The Rise 2.0 improved on it's predecessor in that the fan that blows the vaporizer out can be turned off and on at will, allowing the user to suck it through a whip attachment themselves or let the bud season for a few seconds before allowing the vapor to begin flowing.
Added temperature controls mean a wide range of temperatures can be serviced for those who like choosing a more subtle or a more in your face high depending on how they may feel on a particular day.
To summarize, the Vapir Rise 2.0 is the best desktop vaporizer when all factors such as price, vapor quality, build quality, ease of use, and ease of sharing are all factored in. What I'm trying to say is this is the best all around choice if you're trying to get as far as you can in as many of those attributes as possible.
Pros
Cons
While the Volcano made bag-style desktop vaporizers en vogue, some manufacturers have decided to focus on devices meant to be used with a whip attachment.
The Silver Surfer is perfect for a hookah type experience in the leisure of an inside of doors environment, except instead of harsh shisha smoke you're inhaling smooth, crisp vapor with all of the flavor compounds intact. I attribute the highly delectable vapor to the ceramic heating chamber, because it's either that or some kind of gypsy magic.
The Silver Surfer went for a very unique all aluminum exterior design and is operated through the use of a temperature knob. A knob is less precise than digital options, but I find the process a lot more approachable than trying to figure out if there really is a difference in vaping experience by just adjusting the temperature by a few degrees precisely.
Overall, the Silver Surfer is a very quick to use vaporizer that seldom leaves me unsatisfied. Make sure your plant matter is properly ground up to avoid any frustrating sessions where you just can't stretch your herb as far as you know it can go.
Pros
Cons
The Super Surfer functions as a more precise and technical piece of equipment compared to it's younger brother, the Silver Surfer.
I suppose many enjoyed what the Silver Surfer had to offer but wished for the more complex features of other desktop vaporizers, and so the Super Surfer was born. Now bags can be used as well as whip, so now a fan controlled by a knob has been added, this knob is directly beside the temperature knob.
Now that vaporizers are becoming increasingly advanced, manufacturers are looking for new ways to stand out among other products. This vaporizer has added customizable mood lights to help create that '60s drug den vibe that imparts a very chill atmosphere to the room, I personally like it a lot.
Where else is the Super Surfer different? There's now an air filtration system that prevents any material in the heating chamber from making it's way through the whip and into your mouth. Lovely.
Basically, if you’re looking for a great desktop vape made from stylish aluminum that provides enough vapor to keep an elephant stoned, give the Super Surfer a try.
Pros
Cons
Vaping, whether using a dry herb vaporizer or e-cigarettes, has become very popular in the last few years. This has mostly occurred due to the rise of studies such as those funded by Cancer Research UK, which have reported that vaporizing causes fewer long-term health risks than regular smoking.
While the jury is still out on just how significant the long term effects are, most users do report increased lung function. Many people are now turning to vaping for a much more milder effect on their respiratory system compared to combusting material.
Since the demand has risen, so has the need for manufacturers to release products worth their salt and that fit the needs of users based on how they actually use these kinds of products. There is an abundance of vaporizer options to choose from now, with aspects like discreetness as well as power being at the forefront of the marijuana vaporizer industry. For most people, after switching to using a good portable vaporizer that is both convenient and reliable, it’s hard to go back to burning weed full time.
But less scrupulous manufacturers have also began to cash in on the dry herb craze. In fact, there's one vaporizer who's name escapes me out there sold by four different companies that is the exact same product from China just rebranded for each company, they all function nearly exactly the same. Because of this, I found the need to list the good ones somewhere people can find the information. Not only are bad vaporizers just plain old ineffective, they toe the line as to what is considered "safe" to an uncomfortable degree.
Dry herb vaporizers have become one of the quickest advancing technologies in the world of cannabis consumption. Before the creation and rise of vaporizers, cannabis users were forced to combust their material directly, whether by inhaling it through a joint, bong, or a pipe. With the rise of medicinal patients who want the benefits of cannabis without harsh smoke, vaporizers are dominating a large portion of the marijuana piece market share
Vaporizers not only keep the user from experiencing the harsh side effects of the direct burning of cannabis, but they also do a better job at delivering THC than any other method. Instead of burning the herb, vaporizers evaporate or vaporize the cannabinoids into a smooth vapor, and specific temperatures can be set to determine which compounds the user would prefer to receive the most of.
The previously mentioned vaporizer reviews were written with the intent of making choosing the right vaporizer easier. By going through these reviews, it should be easier for you to choose the kind of vaporizer you need based on overall quality, performance, ease of use, as well as price. Each different vaporizer sports different types of customization settings and controls, allowing you to set up your vaporizer the way you want it. Depending on how often you want to put your vape to use, you should consider how much you're willing to spend.
Ideally, look for getting as much battery life and quality performance as you can for your dollar, the rest is all for treating yourself.
Hopefully if you made it this far, you have a rough idea of which dry herb vaporizer will best suit your needs. If not, please comment down below what you're looking for, and I will do my best to help you.
I'd also just love to hear your feedback, so don't hesitate to comment down below!

If you're looking for an ultra portable vaporizer that delivers excellent vapor quality, the AirVape X might be for you.
When the AirVape X originally went on the market, I was one of the first people to go buy it.
There is a lot that can be said about this particular vape. Having been marketed as a light, thin, and portable device, I was thrilled at the prospect of being able to see if miniaturized vaporizers have been improving in their capabilities.
The AirVape X is light, yet sturdy. It is compact, thin like a new smartphone, but full of features. There no doubting the fact Apollo (the Airvape manufacturers) is trying very genuinely to generate a name for themselves in the herbal community.
First and foremost, what a rush! I did have a few concerns, but luckily with the release of the modified AirVape X a lot of these concerns were subdued.
The Apollo AirVape X managed to draw me in with its unique allure.
Not sure exactly why I decided to buy it, but I figured if it was anything like the AirVape XS, than it would be worth buying.
Regardless, almost immediately after they were released, I picked one up.
The price is not entry level, but not inaccessible either. Compared to many other vaporizers in the market that come at the same price with less features, the AirVape X was relatively cheaper.
Standing at only $179, it was a steal. All of that being said, there is no vaporizer without its flaws.
Here is my honest assessment of the product:
Upon first seeing the device I was taken back by its impressive exterior. The AirVape X, just like its cousin the AirVape Xs, was designed in a uniquely innovative way. The sleek Aluminum exterior of the device matched with the smartphone inspired LED screen, and the magnetically retractable mouthpiece is enough to prove that Apollo’s manufacturing direction is at the core of their business model.
The level of improvement between the AirVape X, and the AirVape XS was truly astonishing. The magnetic lid made the smoking process much easier. The device has a larger chamber that can accommodate more herb, the thinness was definitely an issue with chamber size for the XS, but the X has a very healthy chamber size.. By using the concentrate pad you can use wax for a much more high-THC experience. The modifications that I saw on this device far exceeded those which I had expected.
The product has a very simple design. A “power up” button with an “up”, and a “down” button completing the interface of the device. These three buttons are used to access the vaporizer’s settings.
Weighing only 3.2 oz, the vaporizer is considerably light. The engineering direction behind producing light devices means that portability is at an all time high with the AirVape X.
In terms of the device’s dimensions, the AirVape X is 0.48 inches in breadth, 1.85 in Width, and 4.1 in length. This device is rare in how pocket portable it is, when it is all put together for traveling, I don't have to dedicate an entire pocket to it and can keep my keys and money in the same pocket.
The ceramic heating chamber of the AirVape X coupled with the mixed conduction and convection heat sources make for some above-average vapor. Vapor quality is the only department Apollo needs to improve on, but this is simply in taste and quality itself, not in how stoned you can get.
In terms of being discreet, the AirVape X isn't easily concealed by holding it a certain way when in use. As thin as it is it compensates in width and length. The flashy colors and rectangular design may draw some glances, but in terms of stealth the device can easily be concealed in your hand, and pocket when not in use.
Personally I find it just takes a little extra consideration when smoking in public to make sure no alarm bells are raised.
The device’s compact nature makes it a convenient option when it comes to vaping on the go. Few devices can fit in as many different pant pockets as this one can, and even some of my summery shorts can accommodate the X. The heat up process is rabbit quick, I can toke and be on my way in a minute or two.. Having a thickness of 0.48 inches, the device maintains the look and feel of one of the newer iPhones.
Apollo took discretion into consideration with their decision to slim down the new X model. My one proposal would be for Apollo Vaporize Inc. to produce a sister product that is slightly thicker to accommodate an even more powerful battery and a larger herb chamber, this one is not the best for sharing a single chamber between all of your friends.
Tip #1 - If you are the kind of person who enjoys smoking in public, be careful. Cover the chamber with a little bit of herb, nothing more than 0.25 grams with a temperature that doesn’t exceed 300 °F. This way the odor the vaporizer produces will be minimized into little to no effect. But that's more for the riskier public encounters. If you can blend into a crowd or dip off into somewhere secluded, blaze away and get the hell out of there.
One of the things that Apollo modified when they released the AirVape X was the battery life of the device. The vaporizer’s ampere hour increased from 1,300 mAh to 1,500 mAh. This increase in electric power is supposed to translate into extra vape time if used at the same temperature settings for a moderate vaper, but several factors come into play in reality that make it less than entirely truthful, but I still find it to be a moderately scale able way to determine battery life.
The battery is built in the device in order for it to achieve its ultra-thin exterior. This does come with a price though, so make sure you prioritize the safe-keeping of the battery. The average battery life gives you an hour of continuous smoking. This number ranges depending on the temperature and frequency of usage. I can keep the device going for 8 hours if I wanted to. Constant usage will make the battery run out fairly easily, whereas more conservative use will see the device going much further on a single charge. Remember not to overcharge your device, as this is known to reduce mAh over time.
The battery charging time is about an hour and twenty minutes, making it relatively faster than other vaporizers. Every charge delivers from 3-5 bowls of herb.
Tip #2 - To avoid weakening your battery, and to preserve the unit an adjustable auto power off setting can be applied. It powers off the device if left long with no interaction.
The vapor quality is very much in-line with that of medium priced vaporizers, but falls short of top of the line quality.
The heating process combines convection with conduction. These elements combined with the ceramic airway delivers an undeniably strong robust flavor. However, compared to other vaporizers I've tried with a similar setup there is definitely a bit of a difference, negligible, but noticeable.
The unwritten rule when it comes to vaporizers is that the best way to enjoy the flavor of the herb is by lowering the temperature as well as minimizing the amount of herb placed inside the chamber. In my case I feel that placing 0.15 grams of herb combined with a temperature of 330 °F yields wondrous results. I will say that this is more for enjoying the flavor and terpene profile of your herbs, and less so for getting as absolutely blitzed as possible.
In short lower temperatures allow you to receive better flavor, however high temperatures maximize the amount of vapor inhaled from the device.
Tip #3 - To maximize the quality of the vapor pack the herb down inside the chamber with your finger. This vaporizer works best with medium packed herb. Herb packed too loosely just won't vaporize nicely and too tightly packed herb absolutely wrecks the airflow.
If this is the first time you use the device, you need to sterilize it.
Step 1: Sterilization.
Press the power button three times to open the unit. Use the “up” button to bring the device to its highest temperature 480°F. The AirVape X will automatically start heating up. After three minutes the AirVape will automatically shut down. When it shuts down you need to repeat the cycle three times so that full sterilization will occur. Those less concerned with germs from the manufacturing process can skip this process, but I can't advocate anything less than the best harm reduction techniques.
Step 2: Vaping.
Remove the magnetic retractable mouth piece. This will expose the chamber inside the device. Just place the herb, or concentrate into the chamber. After that all you have to do is replace the mouth piece and enjoy your experience.
Tip #4 - When it comes to concentrate you will need to use the bundled concentration pad or risk serious damage to your device. Use the wax tool to place a small amount of wax on the dab pad. It should be noted, however, that unlike dry herb the concentrate needs to be heated at a higher temperature. For that I recommend anything between 400-420°F. Anything lower may consume the shatter, but many valuable constituents of the shatter will be wasted as opposed to consumed.
To summarize, my final verdict on this device is that it is tech savvy, portable, and it produces great flavor. The AirVape X is effective and mobile at the same time. This balance that it maintains is perfect for a consumer like me. I am very outgoing and social, so I would feel much better knowing that I can take a hit wherever I go. I would like to see Apollo decrease the height of the device but give it a little more width for a bigger herb chamber.
With a price tag of only $179, the device is very good for its price. It offers you everything you might need. The variety of options that come from using this device are undeniably convenient. The business model that Apollo is pursuing will offer it a stand on the vape community’s podium if it continues to excel as it has in the last two years. Should you want absolutely flawless vapor quality, you'll have to spend a little more on a vaporizer that had that in mind.
Looking for a compact and user friendly vaporizer?
The Arizer ArGo Vaporizer might be the one for you.
The Arizer ArGo is marketed as the most portable vaporizer on the market.
Arizer has undeniably amassed a name over the years by producing some of the best portable and desktop vaporizers on the market.
When I heard they were releasing a brand new portable that was marketed as the most compact vaporizer in their line-up, I was sold.
The Arizer Go’s main functionality, is implicit in its name. The product is designed to be taken on the go.
Arizer has said that their goal when creating the ArGo was to make a more compact portable vaporizer since their current line-up is on the bulkier side.
Even with its compact design, the device also managed to impress me with its user friendly interface.
After testing out the ArGo thoroughly over the past few months, I've put together my in-depth review.
At only 3 inches in height, and 2 inches in width, the ArGo was designed for portability. Arizer’s engineering team have really upped their game with this one.
Its without a doubt one of the most portable vaporizers that I currently own, and because of that, its one of the first vaporizers I reach for when I need something portable.
Since I'm the kind of person who walks around with my car keys, a cell phone and wallet in my pockets almost all the time, the burden of carrying around an awkwardly large vaporizer is something that really bothers me. This device managed to overcome that burden. They even have a ‘push top’ button on the backside of the device so that the glass stem doesn’t cause any discomfort when carrying.
I also noticed that the glass stem, allows for a more substantial draws due to its diameter than your standard portable vaporizer. This is especially good if you enjoy large hits of vapor like I do.
Another feature of the device that I found interesting was the range of temperatures. The temperatures ranges from 122° to 480 °F. Personally I do not recommend increasing the temperature above 390°F.
Tip #1 Always make sure you let your device take its time in the preheating process. Besides the fact that preheating sterilizes the vaporizer, it also gives for a fuller experience when smoking your stuff.
The ArGo features three buttons, mainly: The Mode/ Power button, and two temperature control buttons. The temperature control buttons can help you adjust your temperature by a single unit. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of functions that I could adjust to my very own liking, namely:
The ArGo is a true stealth warrior. When it comes to being inconspicuous the ArGo is perfect. This was a concern I always carried around earlier when I used the Arizer Solo. It is great to see that the company adapted to their customer’s needs in that way. It can fit inside your palm, and you can press the ‘push top’ button at any time. On its resting state, the vaporizer looks like a Motorola Flex Pager!
Tip # 2 If being discreet is a priority always make sure you adjust your temperature below 350 °F. That would make the vapor essentially odorless. The device’s battery power definitely surprised me. To be honest once I saw the size of this device I automatically assumed that it was going to have limited battery strength. The ArGo can actually take up to 90 minutes in one session until the battery needs charging. If I’m using it in a long session with friends and I don’t want to go through the hassle of charging it, I just pop in another battery!
Intuitively the battery life depends on the temperature of the ArGo. Higher temperatures will deplete your battery faster, so be careful. Personally I enjoy smoking at lower temperatures so that I can prolong my experience, so it takes me about 105 minutes. Although the glass stem can take up to around 0.34 grams, I prefer reducing the amount of herb in the device to 0.1- 0.16 grams. I find that less herb with lower temperatures prolong my experience.
Usually everywhere I go I find that one person who stresses on the quality of the vapor. For those of you who like enjoying the flavor of your herbs, this device is definitely for you. Though the aroma of the vapor is relatively mild, it undeniably combusts with flavor.
That is because the glass stem in the ArGo is more or less the same size as that of the Solo, or the Pro. For a device this small I was actually surprised by the fact that it stuck with the Arizer brand of delivering good flavor. The device actually has an inward chamber for the glass stem.
Tip #4 For a better, and more enhanced flavor try filling in only half of the stem with your herb. That will maximize the effect of your experience, as well as prevent you from wasting your own stash. If you fill in half the chamber, and reduce the temperature to a moderate 350 °F you will actually maximize your smoking experience.
Tip #5: There is a convenient function on the device that the instruction manual does not mention. It is the fact that you can set the device to the temperature that you want by placing a beeping signal. The temperature check function can be observed in the device’s settings.
Without a doubt, yes.
If you're looking for a super portable vaporizer, with a smart, user-friendly design, than you'll definitely enjoy the ArGo by Arizer.
It's served me very well over the past few months, and I have no regrets buying it. If you'd like to purchase it for yourself, here's where I bought mine.
I believe that the Arizer Go is designed for the mobile consumer. If you enjoy smoking at home, you might find cheaper alternatives. It must be noted, however, that the portability and discretion of the device makes it easier for you to take it around. The great flavor that is enhanced by the wide open airflow of the device is my favorite component when assessing the device.
It is my opinion that the changes that Arizer’s engineers produced with this new device surpassed my expectations. Adaptability to the changing market is where Arizer’s R&D team excelled. My main issue with the Solo and the Pro was the fact that they were very ostentatious in public. Now I feel like I can go anywhere with this device in my pocket.
Overall I highly recommend you use this product. The price might seem a bit high, but it is worth every penny you invest. Arizer have clearly revolutionized the concept of portability.
Are you looking for a super portable vaporizer that delivers excellent vapor quality?
The Pax 3 might be the vaporizer for you.
The Pax 3 is the latest product launched by PAX Labs - and it’s a goodie.
The third in a line of successful and popular Pax vaporizers, Pax has managed to continue improving while not deviating away from what made it so great in the first place: elegance, ease of use, portability and reliability.
The Pax 3 has quickly become one of my go-to vaporizers due to it's portability and ease of use. Whenever I need a vaporizer that is ultra portable and discreet, I reach for my Pax 3.
It's the ultimate vaporizer for bringing to concerts or events since it can easily be concealed and fits into pant pockets with ease.
If you're looking for an extremely portable vaporizer, that delivers exceptional vapor quality, you should consider adding the Pax 3 to your stoner arsenal.
In this article, I’ll walk you through Pax’s latest release, the upgrades made to the product and my overall experience with the Pax 3.
My goal is to help you decide whether or not this vaporizer is worth your hard earned money.
The Pax 3 is almost identical to the Pax 2 when it comes to size. The size and weight distribution is great for portability and feel. It also means that any accessories bought for the Pax 2 will work for the Pax 3, which is a nice little bonus.
In fact, the Pax 3 pretty much looks like the Pax 2 and wouldn’t look out of place on your girlfriend’s makeup counter.
The only real difference between the Pax 2 and 3 is the switch from a dull aluminum finish to a shiny, polished finish.
While this makes the unit look more flashy and aesthetically pleasing, it also means that your fingerprints will be smudged on there 24/7, and unless you like polish your unit with a fiber every 10 seconds, it can get quite annoying.
If you’ve used any of Pax’s products before, you should have a pretty good idea on how this unit operates.
For those of you who haven’t before, all you need to do is open the magnetic cap at the bottom of the device to reveal the heating chamber.
Then you fill the heating chamber with the herb of your choice, shut it back up again and you’re good to go. The Pax Labs have also added the option of using concentrate. There is a concentrate oven that you have to fill, and it’s easy to remove as well.
To turn on the heat, you have to press on the button that’s centered around the mouthpiece at the top of the unit. You then have to select the temperature you want. This is done by pressing on the power button while the vaporiser is still on. This opens up the temperatures menu, where you can select from 5 different temperatures. 4 of those temperatures were available in the Pax 2, while a new fifth custom temperature, which you can control through the mobile application. If you’re using concentrate, it is highly recommended you use the 4th (highest) setting.
With your heating chamber full and desired temperature selected, the device automatically begins to heat up to the selected temperature. This is one of the areas where the Pax 3 has come a long way in comparison to the earlier Pax models. The Pax 3’s heating time should take no more than 15 seconds, having been slashed from the 45 seconds that Pax 2 users will be accustomed to. Once the device heats up, it will vibrate and turn green, allowing you to begin taking draws from the mouthpiece.
If you were paying attention, you might’ve noticed a little something about a mobile app. Yeah, that’s right. Pax Labs have also developed a mobile application to enhance your experience.
Through the mobile application, you have the ability to choose from a number of different options, each with different settings for a fresh but equally satisfying experience.
The five heating profiles are:
Standard - works normally.
Boost - keeps the oven hotter with less auto cooling mid-session. This profile is great for quick
sessions or if you’re a fan of big vape clouds.
Flavor - only heats the herbs when you are drawing, thus maintaining the flavor for a longer
time. The vapor is not as dense, however.
Efficiency - increases the oven’s temperature over the course of the session.
Stealth - cools much quicker than normal, allowing for a quick ‘stealthy’ hits, with little vapor and
minimum smell.
Overall, I've really enjoyed using the Pax 3 over the past few months. I've owned the old Pax 2 for quite some time, and had a good experience with it, so I figured I'd pick up the Pax 3 as well.
Right off the bat, I noticed it has some very noticeable improvements when compared to its predecessor, starting with a longer battery life. The Pax 3 has a super long battery life, especially when you take into consideration its size.
Another thing worth mentioning is how portable and discreet this vaporizer is. I've taken the Pax 3 to a few different outdoor concerts and events with no issues what-so-ever. It's very portable and fits in my pant pockets easily without being bulky at all. It's without a doubt my favorite vaporizer when it comes to portability. There are few vaporizers, that compare the to Pax 3 when it comes to discreetness and portability.
Pax vaporizers have always been pretty easy and straightforward in their cleaning. Thankfully, the Pax 3 has continued this trend.
Materials begin to build up on the edges of the screen after around 10-15 sessions. This is generally when you’ll want to quickly clean out the vaporizer unit. You’ll have to clean the screen, wipe out the edges of the bowl and the mouthpiece as well. But every once in a while, you’ll want to do a full cleaning, just for the sake of maintaining your vaporizer.
You’ll need your pipe cleaners and some isopropyl alcohol. Wipe down the vapor path, clean out the oven and again, wipe the mouthpiece. The whole process shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes. However, the process changes a little bit if you plan on using concentrate. The vapor path and lid have to be cleaned a lot more frequently, and of course the insert itself has to be regularly maintained. Pop it out of the vaporizer and into some isopropyl alcohol, wipe it down and viola, you’re done.
It seems that Pax Labs were doing their research, since the one of the more frequently heard complaints from users of the original Pax and the Pax 2 was that the oven size was too big for single person sessions.
Those wanting to enjoy single person sessions would probably have to fashion a custom made stainless steel insert or would have bought a third-party accessory.
Now the Pax 3 comes with a half-pack lid, which essentially reduces the oven size and reduces the volume of wasted product.
It’s been a growing trend among users to use concentrates instead of herbs, so again it is good that Pax Labs are adapting to the market around them and addressing these changes.
The concentrate lid has been working well thus far, and even though a bunch of different concentrates have been tried (some more runny while others have been more heavy), and so far nothing has leaked and there have been no messes to clean up after. The concentrate experience has also been quite nice, so no complaints overall.
You'll get both accessories free if you buy the Pax using the link below!
One of the main strong points of the Pax 3 is it's vapor production. For a portable, it delivers really amazing vapor quality.
It's got pre-set temperatures as I've said already, which isn't ideal from the perspective that many models allow you to finely tune the temperature, however from a simplicity and ease of use stand-point, it's great. The pre-set temperature settings make vaping on the go super convenient.
I personally like the middle setting the best, as I find it produces the best flavor.
Tip #1 - Using a grinder to finely grind your herbs will allow you to vaporizer your herbs more evenly. This will allow you to get way more out of your stash, and also provide better hits of vapor in terms of flavor.
Despite not changing the size or weight of the product, Pax Labs managed to somehow increase the battery life of the Pax 3 from 3000mah to 3500mah, so an extra 500mah. While this change may not feel so significant, it can get you an extra session or two without having to charge your vaporizer, which can make a massive difference.
I'm typically able to get at minimum around 2 hours of usage with this vaporizer, however when I vape at lower temperatures I'm able to extend this by about 30-45 minutes.
Another little plus for the Pax 3 is the fact that it charges fairly quickly. It fully charges in about 100 minutes when it is completely empty.
The small size and improved battery life of the vaporizer make it easy to carry around with having to worry about carrying too much things or worrying about charging the unit midday.
The Pax 3 normally retails for $229.99, but we’ve found a deal for $199.99. Click the link below to get the deal!

Now comes the real question - to buy or not to buy?
If you already own the Pax 2, the price difference of about $50-70 makes it difficult to justify buying the Pax 3 unless you're looking for an upgrade.
If you’re in the market for a new vaporizer, you can certainly do much worse than the Pax 3. This vaporizer is perfect for anybody that is looking for a portable that can be used just about anywhere. This high quality portable delivers excellent vapor quality, and out performs most portables on the market in terms of vapor quality and flavor production.
If you're thinking about buying the Pax 3, I highly recommend that you use the link below. Unfortunately, the Pax line of vaporizers are some of the most popular vaporizers for knock-offs. So needless to say there are plenty of fake versions of this product for sale online.
I'd only recommend you buy the Pax 2 from a trusted source, just so you can guarantee your getting the real product, as well as warranty to cover any factory defects.
The Pax 3 is certainly an upgrade over its forerunners, while still keeping true to the original Pax values. The Pax 3 is aesthetically pleasing, consistent and most importantly, highly portable.
This device has quickly became one of my favorite portable vaporizers. It's the first vaporizer I reach for if I'm looking to vaporize on the go. This vape is perfect for the festivals and concerts I go to in the summer.
Did you know?
All of the products that I review on iMarijuanit are products I've purchased with my own money.
Yes... I've really spent that much on vaporizers. I've spent well over $10,000 at this point on my collection of vaporizers, dab rigs and other marijuana paraphernalia. I'm not exactly proud of how much I've spent on my habit, however it's made my basement the ultimate sesh spot for myself and all my stoner buddies.
My wife isn't exactly stoked about it though, believe me, she reminds me all the time.
Be sure to check out iMarijuanit.com for more vaporizer reviews! I test and review many of the latest and most popular vaporizers on the market.
Please leave a comment down below with any comments or questions you have about the Pax 3. If you own it yourself, let us know your experience whether that be positive or negative. Your comments will help educate new readers of this review in the future.
In this guide I will be covering what I believe to be the best portable vaporizers that money can buy. The truth is that there are plenty of portable vaporizers available that fit virtually any budget, the trouble is choosing one that's going to be worth your money. That's where I can help.
My name is Taylor, and I've been using vaporizers for over 7 years. I've tested more vaporizers than most people you'll encounter and more vaporizers than most people will even see, and I've even got the receipts to prove it. In all honesty my wife would kill me (or more likely divorce me) if she knew how much I've spent over the years. Luckily, I know just the vape for her, too.
I don't want to self qualify myself, but I personally feel pretty confident to make recommendations on which portables you should and shouldn't buy, seeing as I've tested 90% of the popular models on the market. I've also tried to confirm my suspicions about any particular vaporizer with as many friends as possible to help bring some objectivity into the mix.
Unlike what most people think, you don't need to break the bank on quality vaporizer. There are plenty of solid portables for under $100, and in this article my goal is to show you just what to expect from vaporizers at all points of the price spectrum.
Out of all the portable vaporizers I've used, the next 5 are the best I've ever personally used, the top of the class, if you will. Without wasting any more time, lets get into my top 5 vaporizer picks for this year.
Vaporizer | Features | Price |
---|---|---|
Pulsar APX | Best Vaporizer Under $75 |
$69.99 |
Pulsar APX | Best Portable Wax Vaporizer |
$69.99 |
Magic Flight Launch Box | Most Portable Vaporizer |
$119.99 |
Firefly 2 | Overall Best Portable Vaporizer |
$329.95 |
Atmos Vicod 5G | Overall Best Value Vaporizer |
$129.95 |
The Pulsar APX is one of my personal favorites, and a vaporizer I use almost every day no matter where I might find myself.
It's a solid little dry herb vaporizer that retails for under $75, which in my opinion is insane since just a few years ago I wouldn't have expected to grab something so jam-packed with quality vaporizing power for under $200.
It delivers solid vapor quality, and has a pretty good battery life, especially considering its size. I can usually get somewhere around a dozen chambers to a single charge. This translates to about an hour and fourty five minutes of straight vape time.
Don't let the low price fool you, the Pulsar APX compares to vaporizers that cost well over $100.
The Pulsar APX is hands down the best value herbal vaporizer on the market, and one that I highly recommend if you're looking for a dry herb vaporizer that won't break the bank.
Size wise, the APX is slightly larger than two standard BIC lighters stacked on top of each other, making it small enough to lose track of in your pocket but big enough to find again. Included is a concentrate/oil adapter so if you can get stoned off of it, there's a good chance you can make it work with the APX.
A vaporizer of this size and price doesn't give you a lot of say in how you're able to control it. There's only enough room for a single button and the digital LED display, so everything is controlled at literally the push of a button. The three temperature settings are more than enough for this to be a great about-town vaporizer that is easy to replace should anything tragic happen.
The heating chamber is fashioned from ceramic and takes a meager 40 seconds from to go from cold to blazing.

Pros
Cons
It's definitely worth mentioning that the APX also comes in a wax version. The APX Wax retails for the same price as the normal version.
The only difference is it's a vaporizer thats designed to be used with concentrates and wax, as opposed to dry herbs. The APX Wax is a triple quartz coil vaporizer that delivers massive dab rips. I've personally fallen in love with the triple quartz coil, since I love taking dabs and this baby rips something special. Quartz tends to bring out the best flavor profiles in concentrates and the triple coil design ensures there's no wastage if you dab just a bit too generously.
The APX Wax is the only vaporizer I personally use with concentrates. Since its basically the same thing as taking a dab off a quartz nail in my opinion, except I'm able to rip this thing while walking down the street instead of in the confines of my home.
It delivers incredible flavor and vapor quality for a portable concentrate vaporizer and for me the APX is the only portable vaporizer that truly vaporizes concentrates instead of just poorly mimicking what a dab rig can do. I really can't understate how great the triple quartz coil is because you can fit a fair amount of shatter in there in a single scrumptious rip.
The APX Wax is a little smaller than the original version, and its the perfect vaporizer to vaporize wax if thats what you're looking to do. Pulsar was kind enough to include a concentrate jar and a metal dabbing tool, so I even recommend the APX for those who might want to move up to a full size dab rig one day just to see if concentrates are the right choice for them. Concentrates are notoriously expensive and this is a fantastic way to dip your toes without having to remortgage your home.
Battery life is rather impressive, mainly because of how quick it is to charge. Depending on how you use it the APX Wax will last about an hour or two of consistent usage, but it only takes an hour and some change to get it back to fully charged.
If you're looking for a portable wax vaporizer that will deliver massive rips, then this is the vaporizer I'd recommend. It's an excellent vaporizer for conserving concentrates, and a must have if you like using your concentrates to their full power. Especially since it comes with such a low price tag at under $70, it's an all around package cheaper than some dab rig accessories. Pros
Cons
The Magic Flight Launch Box (also known as the MFLB) is one of the most popular portable vaporizers and has been around for many years. The launch box is ubiquitous among stoners because of it's ease of use and affordability.
It's one of my personal favorites, and is the smallest, most simplistic vaporizer I've ever used. The majorly steampunk vibes it gives off probably factors into my admiration for it as well.
However, don't let the simple design discourage you as this is one of the better performing portables I own.
The MFLB is my go-to vaporizer if I need something discreet and portable to take with me on the go. I can conceal the entirety of the device in my closed palm.
It comes with two batteries which makes it even more convenient. The MFLB is the only vaporizer I reach for whenever I go to a concert or festival. Since it's so small, its easy to sneak it just about anywhere.
Using the MFLB is quite simple. Place one of the rechargeable batteries into the port on the side of the device after loosely packing a trench full of weed and push the battery towards the connection within the device. You have to keep the battery touching the connection to keep the device on, which can be slightly uncomfortable if you want back to back trenches. This system of heating means there's only about a 10 second wait time to start getting vapor, though.
The trench is designed in such a way that all of the herbs are vaporized evenly, I seldom if ever stir my weed in my Launch Box and find any green left over.
Don't let it's simplicity fool you into thinking it's not a top performing portable, because let me tell you, you'll get some excellent flavor production from the MFLB. The heating element does a great job at heating your herbs to just the perfect temperature without ever risking combustion of your herbs.
If you're looking for a portable vaporizer that is both simple to use, and doesn't cost very much money, the Magic Flight Launch Box might be a good option for you.
Pros
Cons
The Firefly 2 has quickly became my one of my favorite portable vaporizers since I started using it. Its about the size of a particularly large USB key and could probably pass for one if you were asked in passing.
I first picked it up when it was first released in 2017, and I've barely put it down for an entire day since. It's one of my daily drivers, and my go-to when I want something high quality and portable that doesn't require too much focus to use properly.
The vapor quality and flavor production is incomparable to any other portable that I've personally ever tried.
The unique herb chamber provides for an amazing experience unlike any other portable since you're able to pack huge bowls and the chamber will vaporizer the entire bowl evenly as it is a convection style vaporizer with excellent airflow.
The Firefly 2 delivers impressive vapor quality, as well as an all-glass vapor path keeping the vapor cool and full of flavor. A full battery gets you somewhere in the realm of 50 draws, which in my opinion makes it the ultimate portable vaporizer. Did I mention it comes with a spare battery?
The original Firefly was bogged down with bad vapor production, the vapor it did produce was harsh and of poor quality, and the battery lasted about as long as the battery of that RC car I got at Christmas time over a decade ago which is to say the battery was not very good. The Firefly was a great proof of concept but they should have refined it to where the Firefly 2 is now before releasing it to the public.
All of those glaring issues were thankfully solved by the time the Firefly 2 came to the shelves and they were also able to add two much needed features: a concentrate mode and the ability to completely customize the temperature settings with the Bluetooth app.
If you have the cash to spend, there's really no other vaporizer in the same price range that compares to the value you get with the Firefly 2. There are very few vaporizers that live up to such high price tags, but this vaporizer is certainly one of them.
I have no regrets buying the Firefly 2. Be sure to read our full review to see why this vaporizer was highest quality portable vaporizer that I tried this year.
Pros
Cons
The Atmos Vicod 5G is a portable vaporizer that well out-performs its price tag. It retails for under $150 but it stacks up against vaporizers I've paid almost double for.
It's LED temperature/battery display is easy to use and makes vaporizing with the Vicod super convenient. Temperature can be customized to the exact degree with the full range being 350°to 430°F.
The vapor production on the Vicod is very impressive as well, as it delivers really nice hits of vapor that leave me on my arse.
The Atmos Vicod 5G is the second generation of the original Vicod. Atmos made some pretty noticeable improvements to the overall design, and gave it a brand new look.
When I compare my original Vicod to the newly re-vamped 5G model, theres no comparison. The Atmos Vicod 5G is a beast. It's hands down one of the top portables on the market. If you need a portable vaporizer under $150, this is the vaporizer you should purchase. It's everything you need in a portable, and more.
Once the device has adequately heated up the only thing stopping you from a lungful of powerful vapor is those first few puffs to get things going. Usually the entirety of the bowl is completely vaporized without me having to stir the cannabis around midway through the session, keeping my fingers odor free and without any sort of gunk.
A good comparison I make when buying any vaporizer or smoking piece for that matter is if I spent that same amount of money on weed, would I be more satisfied with the product or the weed? At $110 that's about a half ounce of the dankest chronic I can put my hands on. The ease of use, portability, and standard of vapor production from the Vicod 5G is definitely more satisfying than having an extra half ounce of weed.
If you're looking to invest in a portable vaporizer that is going to last a long time, and will be worth the money you spend on it, the Atmos Vicod 5G is worth your consideration.
Pros
Cons
All of the vaporizers mentioned above have been purchased at retail price, and have been tested by me personally. Who am I?
I am the sole contributor on this website and I test all of the vaporizers I review personally, and have tested over 50 different vaporizers to date. Sometimes I invite my friends over and have them all try out my devices so I can get a good composite of how these vaporizers stack up to the varying tastes and preferences of different vape users.
Unlike other marijuana vaporizer review websites, who don't actually purchase the products they review, I actually own every single vaporizer listed on my website. My garage is packed full of vaporizers and miscellaneous vape parts, and my wife absolutely hates it. But hey, you get the closet and 75% of the bed at night, I get the garage, fair is fair. I've spent many thousands of dollars over the years testing vaporizers so that you don't have to waste money in low quality products.
My #1 goal is to help my readers avoid buying low quality vaporizers. This is why we only recommend vaporizers that we've tested and enjoyed using. Cheap Chinese knockoffs or any vape made from dangerous materials will never be featured on this website, that is my guarantee to you.
There you have it.
Those are the top 5 portable vaporizers in my opinion from my experience testing vaporizers over the past 7 years.
If you think I've missed one of the best portable vaporizers, be sure to comment the name of the vaporizer down below. I've been known to make mistakes, and there are obviously way too many solid portables for me to list all of them. Besides, these things tend to impart some memory fuzziness due to their nature.
Let me know which portables I've missed by leaving a comment and letting me know down below. I'd love to hear from you in the comments section, and I will be sure to respond to each and every one of you.

Want a one of a kind vape that takes the best from both conduction and convection styles of heating?
The Boundless CF has broken new ground.
The hybrid convection/conduction Boundless CF vaporizer has the performance and look of the popular Crafty vaporizer at a fraction of the cost.
Consistent and reliable, it is user friendly, low maintenance and perfect for beginner vapers.
While there are none of the fancy features that come as standard on the top of the range models, the CF is a great choice for anyone looking for quality paired with ease of use.
With its rapid heat-up, its overall consistency of performance and its high vapor quality, it ensures a pleasurable vaping experience.
The CF usually retails for
$149.99
from most retailers, however we’ve found a deal online for $129.99
plus free shipping across the United States.
Enjoy our in-depth review!
The Boundless CF is unique in the fact that it uses a hybrid heating system, taking advantage of both conduction and convection heating styles at the same time to get the most out of your herb’s chemical profile. The Boundless CF ensures that vapor is delivered in satisfying draws, this hybrid heating system allows for flavor-rich clouds of optimal smoothness.
When used at a lower temperature, the user can enjoy a thin and flavorful vapor for even better taste, while at higher temperatures, there may be a small compromise in flavor due to the use of conduction style heating, but the vapor is especially impressive.
One of the best features of the Boundless CF is that it is equipped with well designed air holes to create a free-flowing vaporizer and this ensures an easy and effortless draw. It’s a great choice for anyone who likes to vape while they’re out and about doing outdoor activities, since it requires very little lung power to achieve a satisfying draw, perfect for skiers, hikers and cyclists.
Although the CF is a little larger than some other portable vaping devices, it is small enough to fit into most pockets for mobile use.
While it may be best for occasional use in since its battery life is quite short, it can be concealed in your palm relatively easily and as there is no digital display, it is not a very eye catching device so will not attract undue attention. In fact, this unit even offers users the opportunity to switch on the stealth mode, disabling its LED lights making it more ninja style.
On the other hand, if you’d rather use this device at home with friends, it’s very simple to use in a group vaping session thanks to the simple design and easy controls.
There’s no need to go through a complicated instruction manual of how to work this device and it is also very simple to load with no grinding requirements or specialist packing techniques, although I have found to get best results with finely ground herbs.
The CF is powered by a non-replaceable internet rechargeable 1300 mAh battery. The CF’s battery life is shorter than that of its larger brother, the Boundless CFX, and can only last for around an hour of continuous vaping before requiring a recharge. This is about half the amount of time that the CFX can offer.
While this isn’t perfect, it isn’t bad for its compact size, innovative hybrid technology, and under $150 price tag. Buying an external battery charger is probably your best bet if you want to use this vaporizer as your vape of choice. As the battery is not replaceable there is no option to just slap in a new battery and pick up where you left off.
This vaporizer comes equipped with a USB charging cable, a concentrate/wax pod, a packing tool, cleaning brush and a user manual.
It is also protected by the manufacturer’s 3 year warranty with a 1 year battery warranty.
If you’re looking for a popular portable vape for under $150, the Boundless CF is one of the best choices. Simple to use, easy to care for and producing consistent, quality, quick results, it is the perfect starter device for first time vapers, and it can easily be used in a group setting. The hybrid heating system really adds a new dimension to my sessions and I personally feel it takes the pros from both styles of heating and minimizes both of their cons.
Like I mentioned at the start of the article, we’ve found a deal on the Boundless CF for $129.99 which is around $20 off. They also offer free shipping and a free gift with every order!
$149.99 $129.99
Overall, the Boundless CF represents impressive value for money, and, while it doesn’t have all of the bells and whistles that some of the higher end devices offer, for its price it offers plenty of bang for the buck. I especially recommend this quality device for stealth vapers as its lack of an eye catching display screen and its integrated stealth mode means that it can easily go unnoticed. I would also recommend it for beginners thanks to its user-friendly controls and its intuitive pre-set temperatures. As it is also portable it’s a great choice for a device to take on a night on the town.
Launched in 2015, Boundless Technology currently has six different units on the market, each one with a unique appeal all its own. Striving to tap into the latest
advances in the industry, Boundless create innovative products which allow vapers to vape stealthily and on the move. They aim to deliver efficient, straightforward and, above all, affordable vaping experiences for consumers while putting customer satisfaction at the heart of what they do.

Looking for a portable that outshines most desktops when it comes to vapor quality?
Arizer has the right product for you.
The Arizer Solo 2 is a re-vamped version of the already popular Arizer Solo.
Made by the quality Canadian manufacturer Arizer, this dry herb vaporizer offers excellent performance when it comes to cloud production and flavor, however although it is marketed as a portable device, it is really too big to be truly easy to take out and about.
However, thanks to its impressive battery life and vapor quality, it is ideal for enjoying on your own or with your friends in the comfort of your own home, and as it is very simple to operate and load it is ideal for newcomers to dry herb vaping.
Made from high quality, durable materials it is very simple to maintain and clean, making it a good choice for vapers looking for a low maintenance option.
This is Arizer’s third portable device, and boasts an equally excellent performance to its big brothers. With its rapid heating, easy to read display and full temperature spectrum, it offers a lot of advantages despite its larger size.
The real downside of the Solo 2 is its large size. While it is marketed as a portable vape, it is actually just a bit too bulky and heavy to pop into a pocket for use on the move, and it also has a glass stem which is awkward to carry because of potential breakages – especially problematic if participating in any kind of sporting activity. It is, however, perfect for use at home.
Built to very high standards, the craftsmanship and quality of this product is evident. All of the components fit together flawlessly and the display is simple to read and bright, while being able to be dimmed when necessary. The buttons have a pleasant tactile feel and are responsive to the touch while its outer shell features a stylish brushed finish which is pretty resistant to damage and which looks sleek and attractive.
Its easy to read display shows the pre-set and current temperatures of the device as well as the battery life which is still remaining. Its menu also allows the audio to be changed, and includes a session length timer, the ability to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature readings, the time to power the device on and off and the brightness of the display.
It is intuitive enough for a beginner to use and overall, the device requires very little maintenance and cleaning for extra convenience, with only the screen requiring brushing after use. Only occasional cleaning is necessary, ensuring that users have a fuss-free vaping experience.
The vapor produced by this device is cool and flavorful with excellent cloud production for a lovely dry herb vape. There is improved air flow together with accurate temperature controls and these are paired with borosilicate glass components for no unpleasant aftertastes.
Thanks to the fully adjustable temperature control, it’s easy to find the sweet spot. With its improved air flow, it’s possible to take a longer, bigger hit for appreciating the vapor even more. This device also ensures huge vapor clouds – perfect for cloud chasers. The heater used for this model is powerful and this is paired with decreased draw resistance meaning it’s much easier to take a draw.
Although the Arizer Solo 2 does offer the option to dim its screen for greater discretion, its size makes it a much more obvious device when out and about than some of its rivals. It is definitely better suited to home use rather than taking it around town, however while in the home, it doubles as a standard aromatherapy device, which means that it is easy for it to go unnoticed.
This device comes complete with a 110 mm aroma tube and a 90 mm aroma tube. Also included are 2 silicone stem caps and a glass aroma dish as well as filter screens and a stainless steel stirring tool. Buyers will also receive a carrying case and a wall charger as well as a sample of lavender to use with the aromatherapy dish.
The battery life of this vaporizer is extremely impressive, lasting around 3 hours from a full charge. It offers the possibility of up to 17 vaping sessions before requiring a recharge. The average charge time from empty to full is around 3 hours too and the device can be charged through an external DC wall charger. As an added bonus, there is pass-through charging after the device has been charged for 10 minutes.
Pros
Cons
The Solo 2 is a very powerful vaporizer which offers excellent vapor production and plenty of flavor, and thanks to its long battery life, it is an impressive device for those who don’t want the hassle of frequent recharging. This makes it greater for heavier users. Simple to clean, empty and load, this is truly a low maintenance device and is perfect for use either alone or with friends. Thanks to its dual use as an aromatherapy vaporizer, it is pretty discreet for use at home, and while it is not terribly portable, it does offer an excellent, durable, and reliable user-friendly experience.
The Arizer Solo II normally retails for $259.99, however we’ve found a deal for $239.99 with free shipping!
You can also get an extra 10% off by using IMARIJUANIT at checkout
$259.99 $239.99
The Arizer Solo 2 offers the high quality that you would expect from a device from this top manufacturer, and therefore I would thoroughly recommend this device, especially for those who prefer to vape at home, either on their own or with groups of friends. Although it is really too bulky to take out in public in most instances, it offers a high quality vaping experience, and is especially good for cloud chasers.
The flavor produced is excellent thanks to the glass components and since it is very low maintenance I would certainly recommend this vaporizer for anyone looking for simplicity of cleaning.
With its affordable price tag and user-friendly controls, this is a good first dry herb device for any vaping novice who wants to be sure of buying a durable, long lasting device that is reliable and which will give many years of excellent vaping.

Are you looking for a vaporizer that looks like an iPhone and out shines most of the portables on the market in terms of design and functionality?
The Pax 2 is the answer to your prayers.
The Pax 2, released in August of 2015, makes the original Pax look like an infantile attempt at a portable vaporizer. The Pax 2 boasts 10% less weight and 25% less size than it’s younger brother, among other notable improvements such as improved battery life and a more powerful heater. The Pax 2 also comes with 4 heat settings compared to the Pax 1’s 3.
What’s always made the Pax vaporizer unique is it’s sleek and futuristic design, to the point where slapping an Apple logo on this thing wouldn’t even seem too far fetched. Intelligent construction with a high quality transverse brushed aluminum outer shell is what the Pax 2 brings to the table.
The Pax 2 is 30% smaller than the original Pax vaporizer, measuring in at 4” tall, 0.73” wide, and 0.34” deep. The device weighs a measly 90g compared to the original Pax’s 98g, making it the creme de la creme of portable vaporizers. The heating chamber found within still fits roughly the same amount of herb so there’s no reason to worry that you won’t be able to get the same kind of experience even with the smaller unit.
The Pax 2 also has done away with the mouthpiece that juts out of the device from the original model, making it the mouthpiece flush with the rest of the unit.
This is hands down the most discreet portable vaporizer I have ever had the pleasure of handling, as I am able to very quickly get an extremely satisfying amount of vapor (sometimes I forget how easy it is to overdo it, actually) and then slip this back into my pocket and be on my way.
As far as operation of the device, a single press of the button found underneath the mouthpiece turns the device on. After that, holding the button allows you to cycle between the four available temperature options, the LEDs at the front of the device show you what setting you are currently at. One more button press after this shuts the device off.
The vapor provided by the Pax 2 tends to lend to a high that is very clean and energizing, or maybe that’s just me getting fired up over the massive clouds this thing can produce. I was blown away by how easily this little thing could throw out massive clouds. On top of that, this feature remained consistent for the entirety of the bowl, there was no diminishing returns as sometimes seen with other vaporizers.
The PAX 2 has four different temperature settings:
My personal favorite temperature setting is the medium setting as I find it produces the nicest tasting vapor.
The Pax 2 boasts lip sensing and draw sensing technology to help keep the temperature consistent. I’m not quite sure how the “lip sensing” technology functions but I’ve definitely seen the draw sensing technology at work to provide a consistent experience. As this is a conduction device, the higher settings tend to result in very hot vapor reaching the mouthpiece but I have yet to achieve combustion with this device, so I am very confident with the Pax 2’s ability to maintain a steady temperature.
The device heats up in a paltry 45 seconds. Which is well worth mentioning as this is pretty damn quick in my opinion compared to most portables.
The vapor itself is smooth which is great for a device that produces so much vapor at a time. Finely ground herb and consistent cleaning is necessary to maintain this smoothness and ease of draw. This device provides only a modest flavor profile from your herbs, but I suppose this is a necessary sacrifice for all of the other positive attributes of this device.
The unassuming design and miniature size of the Pax 2 makes it one of the most discreet vaporizers on the market.
You could easily leave this on your computer desk or on a night stand and have someone mistake it for an external battery pack or just some mysterious electronic device of random use. It’s small size makes cupping it in the palm of your hand extremely simple and it can slip into a pocket or into a discreet pouch of a backpack and easily go undetected.
The 3000 mAh 18650 battery of the Pax 2 provides about 30% more battery life than it’s predecessor, meaning you get approximately an hour and a half of continuous vape time, which was about eight full chambers of herb in my experience. The charge time is about two hours which is about the same as it’s younger brother.
The Pax 2 comes with a USB charging cable, magnetic charging dock as well as a maintenance kit to ensure optimal functioning of your device.
We recommend buying the PAX 2 vaporizer by clicking the link below. This site has the lowest price available online. You’ll also receive free shipping, and a free gift with your order.

Pax Labs (formerly known as Ploom) has been in the vaporizer industry for 11 years now and if I had to compare them to another company I would say they are the Apple of the vaporizer industry.
They stand behind their products with a ten year warranty and strive to leave no customer disappointed. With consistent innovations year by year, Pax Labs is always at the forefront of the industry. Pax Labs are also the manufacturers of the JUUL e-cigarette, another product that changed how people looked at vaping nicotine.
The Pax 2 vaporizer is a perfect marriage of form and function. This sleek and slender vaporizer is the top choice for vaporizer enthusiasts who prize mobility without having to sacrifice vapor quality or how stoned their vaporizer can get them.
With a 10 year warranty that you won’t even have to make use of judging by how high quality this beast is, the Pax 2 will not leave you disappointed.
Easy to use, easy to pack, easy to love. That’s the magic of the Pax 2.

Are you looking for a stylish portable with exceptional vapor quality?
Davinci is bringing the fire (metaphorically speaking) with a brand new vaporizer sure to impress.
The Davinci IQ is the third portable vaporizer to be brought to the market by well known and popular manufacturer Davinci, their other products being the Ascent and the aptly named Davinci.
The IQ is their newest foray into next generation vaporization technology. Featuring a brand new design, a larger battery life, and improved vapor quality.
They’ve also added a new cutting edge smart path heating mode, allowing the user to select from four pre-set temperatures that gradually rises twenty degrees before remaining at that temperature.
This vape also makes use of previously introduced features such as precision mode (exact degree heating) and boost mode (essentially the vape version of hitting the NOS button on a car) this dry herb vaping device even comes in a choice of colors to suit all tastes.
I've been a fan of Davinci since I bought the original Davinci vaporizer many years ago. I also own the Davinci Ascent which was their second release.
I was pretty excited when I heard they were releasing a 3rd vaporizer to their line-up, so I bought the IQ very soon after it was released.
That was over a year ago, and I've put this vaporizer through quite a bit of usage since then.
In this review, I hope to go over all of the things I like and dislike about the Davinci IQ.
My goal is to help anybody reading this decide whether or not the Davinci IQ is the right portable vaporizer for you.
Lets get into the review...
Weighing-in at around 145g, the Davinci IQ is a little heavier than some of the other portable devices on the market today, however its shape and overall size still make it quite simple to pop into a pocket, coming in at about 1.65″ wide and 3.50″ tall. In fact, the additional weight only stands testament to this device’s excellent build quality. Its ceramic zirconia innards provide a top of the line experience while the outer finish is smart and stylish.
This unit is good looking and is comfortable to use, with all of its build materials giving off an air of sophistication, this vape does not give off that “mass produced cheaply in China,” vibe that other vaporizers tend to.
The IQ comes complete with two ceramic zirconia mouthpieces which have been designed to supply impressive flavor while remaining simple to clean. The recessed mouthpiece allows the user to palm the entire vaporizer completely for better concealment, however the raised mouthpiece is the ideal choice for home use and makes a strong seal against the glass.
This unit also comes with an insert which is called the “flavor chamber”. This sits inside the vapor path, allowing you to load in chunks of dry herb of any kind to infuse flavor, the flavor chamber will be only partially heated, meaning that the flavor is expressed without actually cooking the herbs. The herbs are also coated with vapor which condenses while passing through the flavor chamber. I really found this to be an interesting feature.
This innovative extra addition and enables the user to try using a different type of herb in their flavor chamber such as mint to give their vape a more pleasant taste. The flavor chamber allows the vapor to touch more surface area and cool down before arriving at the user’s lips for a more comfortable experience, and it even helps to make maintenance more simple by absorbing much of the vapor which otherwise would get into the mouthpiece.
As I mentioned previously, I bought the IQ soon after it was released since I figured Davinci would knock it out of the park, as usual. I bought it from VaporNation, since they offered the lowest price available online as well as free shipping to my door.
It shouldn't come as a surprise that it quickly became one of my favorite portable vapes, and one of the ones I reach for on a regular basis.
The IQ delivers very impressive vapor quality, and provides a very enjoyable vaping experience overall. I soon found out that it boasts an impressive battery life, and I'm usually able to get around 3 hours or usage to single charge which is unreal especially considering its small size.
The simple to use smartphone application makes controlling the IQ, beginner level easy. I'll cover this more in-depth later in the article but to sum it up, using the Davinci IQ is both a unique experience, and also very practical.
Although the Davinci IQ is a little heavier than some of its rivals, it's still small and compact enough to carry on your person without worry, measuring in at 3.54” tall, 1.65”wide, and 0.94” deep. When used with the recessed mouthpiece, this device is even small enough to palm completely in the hand to make it extra discreet when vaping in public.
The DaVinci IQ can also be used with the Davinci Vaporizer app which is available for free download from either the Google Play Store or iTunes. The bluetooth app offers users a myriad of ways of controlling their device, including the ability to switch the device off and on, the ability to set a temperature and customize a smart path.
The app also tracks individual usage and updates frequently to ensure proper functionality.
This vaporizer comes complete with a single replaceable and rechargeable 3500 mAh 18650 battery as well as the ceramic zirconia flavor chamber, one recessed mouthpiece and one raised, and a USB charging cable. Although it doesn’t come with a spare battery or external charger, these things can easily be purchased separately for an affordable price.
The IQ is supplied with a single rechargeable and replaceable 3500 mAh 18650 battery. This gives the device a lifespan of around 3 hours of usage before requiring a recharge. The average recharge for a completely empty battery takes around 3 hours.
What’s great about the IQ is that the battery is removable, meaning if you have multiple 18650 batteries you can just insert a new one and get back to enjoying your IQ. I would recommend you buy an external charger and a second 18650 battery so you can enjoy greater flexibility.
The IQ produces excellent vapor quality thanks to the ceramic zirconia components. Its powerful heater produces a dense vapor, it is worth nothing that it is not as easily overpowering as many other conduction devices when the consumer takes several large draws in a row.
This efficient device also offers a wide range of temperature adjustment from 250 degrees Fahrenheit up to 430 degrees, and it can reach optimal temperature in just 45 seconds.
There are 2 primary heating options to choose from:
This mode allows you to set the temperature anywhere between 250-430°F, and the unit will maintain the exact temperature for the duration of the session.
Boost mode allows the user to heat up the herb chamber to a higher temperature while drawing on the device. This allows for very large hits of vapor.
If you’re looking for a great combination of style, impressive flavor, great vapor production and plenty of customizability, the Davinci IQ is perfect for you.
I would highly recommend it to anyone who prefers to vape dry herbs rather than concentrates, and who is looking for a well made, durable device with loads of attractive features.
The IQ has served me well and I can only assume you'll like this vaporizer as much as I do. Its the ultimate vaporizer whether your a beginner or are a seasoned vape user like myself. The Davinci IQ is without a doubt one of the top portables currently on the market.
DaVinci (Organicix LLC) has a mission to make high quality battery operated discreet herbal vaporizers. Organicix LLC was originally established in 2011 and has two separate arms, of which DaVinci is one.
They wish to service both the recreational and medicinal markets and as such tend to put a lot of thought into their products.
Their range comprises three well designed, cutting edge models, having released their first vaporizer in 2011. Their second unit, the Ascent, received widespread acclaim when it was released a couple of years later and they are now building on the success of their original DaVinci model with the release of their third product, the IQ which has won awards for its thoughtful design.
The Davinci IQ is a high performing conduction style dry herb vaporizer made by a reliable company. It produces excellent vapor and flavor thanks to the ceramic zirconia construction of the vapor path. It allows for full temperature customization as well as the convenience of a replaceable battery.
If you’re looking for a discreet and compact device that has a strong and durable construction and an attractive appearance, the IQ is the ideal choice. Its easy to use, and provides an experience like no other portable vaporizer.
