The user can set their preferred temperature using the up and down buttons. I can advice you to start at the temperature of around 375°F, and adjust it higher depending on if you’re looking for bigger clouds of vapor, or maybe that flavor reminiscent of slightly charred popcorn when you get to the higher temperature ranges.
The AirVape XS has an incredibly fast heat up time and it’s able to get to 375°F in under 20 seconds. Which is very fast compared to most portable vaporizers you could pick up.
The XS has a hybrid heating system, which provides a really unique vaporizing experience. The only downside of this style of heating system, is that from my experience using it, the temperature seems to run a bit hotter than it says. For this reason, I personally found vaporizing at lower temperatures to be much more enjoyable. As it is a conduction (direct heating by the heating element) and not a convection (indirect heating by warm air flow) vaporizer, the risks of accidental combustion are greater with this device.
The temperature settings on this vaporizer range between 317°F to 425°F and heats up in around 30 seconds. The heat up time is pretty above average compared to most of the current portables on the market.

Pro Tip #1 – The best temperature in my opinion is between 375°F to 385°F. At this temperature you’re able to get very smooth hits of vapor. It’s just an overall very enjoyable experience when vaporizing between those temperatures.
If you’re the type of stoner that enjoys blowing big clouds of vapor, this vaporizer might be for you. Due to it’s ceramic heating chamber, this vaporizer is able to produce some very large clouds of vapor. Its ceramic design allows for amazing flavor, and delivers very good vapor quality in comparison to most portables, including the original AirVape (now retired from production).
The ceramic oven allows the unit to heat your herb very evenly, preventing the need to stir your herbs between draws. If you’ve never tried a ceramic oven style vaporizer before, it’s definitely something you should try out. The AirVape XS is the vaporizer that sold me on them. It produces really nice tasting hits of vapor.
